Roll another phat one, Dave

I got sent the following today by a young lady called Sarah Hay:
"Hey, you'll appreciate this one for a few laughs. Check the new dance craze that's come out of the techno scene in France called tecktonik - it's hilarious. It came out of the banlieues and all the teenagers in France are getting into it. This whole thing started in a hard techno club just outside of Paris. Pretty much like any other hard techno club across the world except these ravers developed the vogueing element."

"The kids battle like hip-hop but the funny thing is that as it's spread to the other big cities like Lyon, Nantes and Lille all the hip-hop kids are going, "Wha-attt the fuck is this?!"

"This is a clip of tecktonik kids battling hip-hop kids who just crack up at first but then they try to match them. France is the biggest consumer and producer of hip-hop in the world after the USA. Outside of central Paris it's still as huge as ever so when suddenly the techno kids are doing this crazy, crazy dance in the schoolyards the hip-hop fans have got a lot to say about it."

Someone totally needs to get David LaChapelle to strap a dead rat to his head, whip on a skin-tight T-shirt and get out there to do a documentary.

There's nothing like a good dance craze. There are too few of them that really catch on. In the 1950s you'd have the mashed potato one week, then the bus stop. New dance crazes all the time.

seems techno is belatedly learning to dance, all over the place, not just in france.

tho that jumpstep business looks more like morris dancing than anything else

ive been working on a comment spam bot which trawls through every hipster blog on the internet and as soon as they drop a new post responds with "sorry mate, super late on this one, got anything interesting to post?" - all automated at a rate of tens of thousands of per day.

the thought of masses of scarf wearing coozers from the four corners of the globe simultaneously foaming at the mouths wondering why it took them so long to hear the latest daft punk bmore remix is so sweet.

to be fair, in this case you might have thought prance would have picked up on it, seeing as vice actually wrote something on it a few month back.

The spam thing sounds amazing.

I've been working on an anti comment spam bot which follows nerds who trawl blogs that they profess to hate in the early hours of the morning leaving sarcastic comments and using words like "coozer", and instantly responds with the message, "Get a fucking life you insignificant worm."

Only joking.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Yeah, yeah, all that dance craze... nothing new, people were jumping around at Berlin's Love Parade like that back in the early 1990s. Trust me, I was there. I found this interesting piece, filmed either at the Hate Parade (non-commercial counter parade to Love Parade; criticism: Love Parade had become too commercial and organisers just wanted to make money, hence sell out) or the Fuck Parade (well, have a guess; As far as I can remember that was the Parade of the Berlin/German Fetish scene etc.); anways, you will see the Techno Viking. Have a good laugh!
