My friend Richard showed me this video a few months ago and then I forgot about it until Fader randomly posted it on their blog last week.
The soundsystem is the legendary Kilimanjaro - they had all the big deejays like Ninjaman, Lecturer, Nitty Gritty etc. The white guy is called Dominic. He is some random guy from London who had a huge street track called "Boy George". What's funny is that it's just some dude from Shepherds Bush on stage looking totally lost and out of place with Ninjaman and Lecturer.
I'm DJing in Bristol next Friday. I played there last Saturday too at a night with Quiet Storm. I never knew he was Caspa. Is that widely known? I guess it kind of all makes sense now. I also DJed on Friday at 333 with a guy from Lucky Number records who told me that Skream engineered that Bi-Polar Men remix of Seventeen Evergreen.

the Slew Dem thing is interesting. You can hear Statik's got his Grindie thing going, reminds me of one of them track there a bit. My ears kind of switch off after Tempz though...
Movement did a Bugsy Malone tune on Tempo Specialists, although its hip hop its actually a lot better.

nah i went to the same school as statik and dj ez's little brother. and skepta called me out once on rinse. definitely can't have been me. i'm realer than half of roadside gs. put together. yep, it was definitely dj cameo. he's got a speech impediment.
half of Grime has a speech impediment - Ears and Footsie for instance lisp like nobody's business, feel like saying "SAY IT, DON'T SPRAY IT" but actually...

From what I read, sounds like this Dominic fella was actually doing alot. Contrast, if you will, with all the middleclass ssemi-ironic white guys in the Grime scene...
what's "alot"? a lot is two words. do you work for RWD or something? and there's no need to talk about logan like that. he's actually doing a great deal for "the scene".
i would like to take this opportunity to apologise on behalf of every white person who likes grime. i know it's unacceptable.

i see dominic round grove all the time he spends his time looking after his son, blagging records from every label in west london and moving them at the exchange. at my last job we'd give him tee shirts and hats for greens. its a pretty big look to have tunes produced and released by king jammy he's one of my heroes.
actually, i was talking about you but fuck it throw cameo in there as well. that guy is swag incarnate, at least i rate you a bit...and yes that dominic guy was doing ever so much at the time. shit like releasing tunes with king jammy and writing for echoes long before myspace and blogging turned everyone with an opinion into a spokesman for the "scene".

There's a few great Metromedia soundtapes featuring Dominic in fine form. His LP on Jammy's is above par as well. Surprisingly good in fact.

I'd just like to say that in terms of innovation and progressive outlook, i'd take dub police and storming over hyperdub and dmz, caspas productions over kode9's and my opinion over bok bok's...
...and another thing, that skeng remix is shit so now i'm questioning your taste too :)
