Wednesday
I've always wanted to be a high roller / When I was young I had to get Nike, I couldn't get Gola
I almost forgot about this. This is a video of Ce'Cile recording a special for me in Jamaica (which can be heard here). While you're there, you might as well add my night to your friends list, so I can repeatedly spam your page with my shit (only joking, I promise).
---
Did I mention you can now buy advance tickets for my night (as advertised over there in the sidebar)? Come along, why don't you? Btw, I found this kind of online diary some guys from St. Louis made to document the time DJ Assault came to play a show with them. It's pretty funny. Oh shit, I nearly forgot to mention, there's a warehouse party in Hackney Wick this Saturday, and it's not one of those shitty ones with Queens Of Noize and some guys from a crap indie band DJing. I might play, but it's my birthday (email me for address to send your presents to "friends") so I'll probably be busy. Go here for details.
Friday
ARE YOU DUMB?
Here is Skepta's "Sweet Mother" video, complete with some very fancy footwork.

Jammer lighting a spliff while pouring petrol all over the floor.
I've been given some outtakes from the photo shoot for the cover of Jammer's new mixtape. Go here to see them.
Thursday
...
Here's that video Bizzle was recording at the Old Blue Last a few weeks back (I guess only Jack Penate showed up in the end).
The best posse cut erm... EVER?
Here's a little video of MC Badness backstage on set of the new series of Dubplate Drama (AKA urban Hollyoaks AKA the programme people were bored of after episode one of series one).
Wednesday
It's the beat(s)
Here's the debut single from The Beats' new signing, Neds Kru. Gotta go now, so busy. Phew!
Friday
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
I'm still tired after my little trip to Brighton last night so can't be arsed to write too much. All the faces were there - Scratchy, Flow Dan, Riko, Manga, even Killa P. I didn't get any pictures. If you did, email them to me innit. I heard one of RD's groupies or fanboys hanging out backstage stole Simon from Klaxons' jacket and jumper while he was DJing. Deep. I played some records for an hour or so before Klaxons. "A Bay Bay" by Hurricane Chris got a big reaction, as did "Whine Up" by Kat Deluna feat. Elephant Man, which will probably be the tune of the summer. It's catchy, if a little cheesy, but whatever, sometimes cheesy can be OK, if you know what I'm saying. It reminds me of that Sean Paul & Rhianna song from last year, on the Higher Altitude riddim. You'll probably be hearing it everywhere in about two or three months.

BBC Radio 4's The Today Programme played a snippet of "Gangsterz" by Wiley yesterday morning as part of a piece on black youth being excluded from school and getting into gangs, so I hear. Big look for "the scene" as they say.

Long live the Queenie

My pal Queenie has an exhibition this week of photos taken on Kingsland Road. If you like photos, you should go.

Rupert and Terrence from The Horrors hangin' with the Jay-Zizzle
This blows my mind.

I'm DJing in Brighton on Friday. Roll Deep are there too, as you will probably know if you read the info on the above flyer.
Who remembers that time I discovered Mr Wong's shop? Well, it turns out Ross Kemp also paid it a visit recently while making a shitty documentary about gun crime. Turns out the shop is selling replica guns. Uh oh. I knew something dodgy was going on. Forward to 02:30 to see the footage.
Monday
Swagizzle
Here's the video for Lethal Bizzle's new single "Bizzle Bizzle". A rather large nod to Kanye West, you might say. I was at the video shoot he did for "Babylon's Burning Down The Ghetto" a week or so back at the Old Blue Last where he was supposed to have cameos from Gallows and Pete Doherty. I'm not sure either showed up. I got his album Back To Bizznizz today. It's pretty bad. You can see the cover here.

This is the cover to Lethal's new single. Tony Blair shooting tha Bizzle in the back. High concept.
Thursday
The wonders of green screen...
Here's the video for Wiley's new single "My Mistakes" with "Gangsters" stuck on the end. I'm a fan. He doesn't seem as camera shy as the other day.
Wednesday
Skepta Stalking (NO PSYCHO)

Here is that pic of Skepta and Plastician at Tel Aviv airport my friend Alex took, which I mentioned before.

Skepta on the way home on the Stansted Express a few days later.

This is the night Skepta randomly showed up at a Black Lips gig at Cargo. Ian from the band rubbed blood on his face for some reason.

In other stalking news: Queenie spotted Wiley at a kebab shop in Stoke Newington at 1 AM this morning. Wiley told him he was a fan of the new Dizzee album, but wouldn't let him take any pics of him with his meaty feast. I just got Soulfood Vol. 2 - full report in the next few days.
Tuesday
Think of a number and suck your mum times that / Divide it by two and suck your dad / I see your nan in Yellow Pages - tracksuits with matching hats

I was at Roll Deep's studio in Limehouse today recording a short promo video for the Vice show they are playing at in Brighton next week. Wiley was there laying down some new tracks with Bless Beats, smoking lots of weed and drinking a carton of Rubicon. I tried to get him to preview some new stuff for me on camera but he wouldn't. He wouldn't even let me take his picture - said he looked too stoned. I heard the first song from his new album Grime Wave, which he started on Monday. It's pretty good. For a couple of boring pictures, go here.
Here is a video clip of Kid Sister live the other night. You missed a great show if you weren't there. I took some other really good videos but the sound is too distorted when the bass kicks in.
I just worked out you can embed VBS. Who knew such things were possible? Above is a very short interview with Vybz Kartel. I like it.

I am going to leave you with one very important question: If you could dress up any grime MC as another grime MC, which MCs would you choose?

Queenie's Grime Picture of the Week

Hello. This week we have a picture of Bigz. I should have put it up last week, but I was busy. Here is what Queenie had to say about the picture: "Bigz was an hour and a half late for the shoot because apparently his car broke down, and when he arrived he said he had to go and get some soft drinks. 15 minutes later, he came out of Greggs with a bag containing one foot long sub, two pasties, two doughnuts, and a bag of crisps. He finished off this little snack with a Benson & Hedges fag."
