Nobody planned it

Grime DVDs are the second best thing to have come out of the grime scene. I'm not sure what the first best thing is right now, though. I'll have a think and get back to you. The above video is a clip of Wiley clashing Ghetto taken from The Movement's DVD. It came out a while ago. I didn't bother to buy it because DVDs are pretty expensive and the best bits are always uploaded to the internet. Btw, how good do all the MCs come across on here? The Movement are so much better on grime, so I don't know why they are persisting with the hip hop. I'd say they are losing fans with their Dipset tribute tracks.

I've been listening to Tinchy Stryder's album. It's OK. It doesn't really feel like an album, though. There's a track with GoldieLocks on there. What's with grime MCs getting mockney girl rapper-singers on their albums? Did I miss the memo? Lily Allen on Dizzee's, Kate Nash on Kano's, and now GoldieLocks ruining a perfectly good Tinchy track. What's going on? There's no point focusing on the negatives, though. Track 4 on the album (I don't have track names yet) is the best thing he has ever done. I've listened to it about 30 times already today. It sounds like something that could have been on Boy In Da Corner - pensive, reflective, anthemic etc.

Roachie and Trim in McDonald's in New York.

I got a copy of Trim's Soulfood mixtape today. It's great. Maybe a few too many tracks, but a really, really good mixtape. I love the Roachie tribute intro. Trim is in the top three in grime, easily.

Dizzee's album is definitely growing on me. It's not grimey at all, so keep that in mind before you hear it. People still seem to think that there's a Joss Stone track on there, but it never made it. Dizzee didn't like it. But yeah, the album is a grower.

Friday

"Clarkson is a wasteman"

I did an interview with Kid Sister last month when she was in the UK. You can read it here.

Lethal B is back with even more Cribs. It is, as usual, incredible. He's very keen on his bins, is the Bizzle. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. Bins are important I guess. Everyone needs a bin.

MIA & Afrikan Boy

We didn't win the gayPod battle yesterday. We got to the semi-final and lost to some French guys. We beat Radioclit & Sinden's team and everyone said they were going to win beforehand. MIA's team won. She's pretty small, she is. Tiny, in fact. I was shocked. Well, not shocked, but slightly surprised. Oh yeah, I nearly forgot, Trim showed up because he's friends with Radioclit. OMG, Afrikan Boy was there too. He did a PA at the end of "One Day I Went to Lidl". That song is like every hipster kid's favourite grime song ever. People are always talking to me about it. They love him. So weird.

Thursday

gayPod Battle

I'm playing at this tonight. I'm in the Vice team. Come along maybe.

Expect some scenes like this.

Don't expect any Beyonce songs or voguing kids, though.

Brand new Collie Buddz freestyle. What does everyone think of him? I love "Come Around" but I don't rate the other stuff I've heard from him.

I just got sent some songs from Kano's new album. One features Damon Albarn.

Wednesday

An institution is the lengthened shadow of one person

Massive new Bear Man freestyle. It's big, yeah. It's big.

I've been sent loads of new CDs this week. I have literally no idea what to do with them though. I decided to do a fashion shoot because I wasn't sure what else to do. The shoot has a tool theme. Each picture features some tools. That's why the theme is "tools". The picture above features Tinchy's new album.

Remember Oxide & Neutrino? Those guys who kind of invented grime? That was clever of them, no? They have a new album.

Wretch 32's new mixtape. I haven't listened to any of these CDs, I should point out. I like Wretch though, so we'll assume his CD is good.

This is the new Dubstep Allstars mix. Lots of people who used to like drum and bass but got tired listen to this stuff. Nerds who like electronica also like this kind of thing. I might like it too. I don't know. Maybe I should give it a listen.

Sunday

double u tee eff

Skepta ft. Flow Dan and Killa P - "U Dun Know"

When I first heard this on 1Xtra, I did a small wee in my pants.

Lethal Bizzle (AKA Jizzy Tissue) on Top Gear.

Dizzee turned up at FWD>> on Friday. I didn't go. I stopped going to FWD>> last year when they put the price up to £7, and when it got really shit and boring. I know the video is awful quality, but that's life I am afraid.

Stuff wot i am liking this weekend:

Collie Buddz - "Come Around"

Wes Fif feat. B.O.B. - "Haterz"

Wednesday

Uh Oh

Some footage from the new Dizzee video shoot.

So, Dizzee has gone and completely ripped off my idea, eh? It's a par.

Btw, I've finally digested the new Dizzee album. It's not good. The Lily Allen track is probably one of the best tracks on there (although it rips off my idea of remaking a Bugsy Malone track - I've got one featuring Slew Dem on my mixtape). That and the one with UGK. The Shy FX track is probably the worst thing he's ever done.

I'm not sure if this is adorable or annoying. The song is an old one by Da Camp, if anyone cares.

New Knuckles mixtape cover.

Fifth favourite song right now: Devin The Dude ft. Snoop Dogg & Andre 3000 - "What A Job"

Monday

OMG!!!

Bizzle's back with Cribs 1.5. Innit. Check out the bin. Innit. Hold tight McFly. Innit.
